Considered material choices
We choose materials according to the application and consider quality, lifespan and minimising waste. There is no single material at the centre; we use what best suits the product.
Sustainable Utrecht
Domstad Cadeaus makes and finishes Utrecht gifts, Dom Tower decor and local city products in-house. We work in small batches, inspect every product ourselves and make considered choices about materials, packaging and production that suit an honest gift from Utrecht.
Our roots
Domstad Cadeaus grew out of a love for Utrecht: the canals, the Dom Tower, the energy of the city and its people. Our products are not standard bought-in gifts with only a name added. We handle design, 3D printing, CO2 laser work, etching, printing, sanding, inspection and packing ourselves.
That makes production more deliberate and transparent. We do not build huge stock without a reason, but work in small batches and make products that suit Utrecht and the moment someone is looking for a gift.
Sustainable impact
For us, sustainability is not about big words, but about choices you can see. We make and finish products ourselves, use materials thoughtfully, avoid unnecessary stock and inspect the finish before a gift leaves the workshop.
With 3D-printed products, we pay attention to material use, print quality and leftover material. With laser work and personalisation, we focus on clean engraving, practical dimensions and packaging that protects the gift without unnecessary filling.
We choose materials according to the application and consider quality, lifespan and minimising waste. There is no single material at the centre; we use what best suits the product.
We make and finish products in our own workshop, in small batches and with control over every step. This lets us produce with purpose and limit unnecessary stock.
For every order, we donate €1 to Trees for All. This connects our production with a fixed contribution to nature restoration.
Packed with care
A local gift should not only look good in a photo. It should also arrive safely. That is why we pack products carefully, with attention to protection, presentation and as little unnecessary packaging as possible.
For fragile Dom Tower decor and personalised gifts, we prefer safe and careful packing over rushing. That better suits a gift someone wants to give with pride.
Choose Domstad Cadeaus if you are looking for an Utrecht gift that feels local, can be personal and does not come from anonymous mass production. This works well for birthdays, thank-yous, corporate gifts, house moves and people with a connection to Utrecht.
If you are looking for official merchandise, Miffy products or extremely cheap souvenirs in large quantities, this is not the right page. Domstad Cadeaus focuses on its own designs, in-house finishing, small batches and a carefully finished gift.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers to common questions when you are looking for a local Utrecht gift and want to know how it is made, finished and packed.
For us, sustainability means using materials, energy, packaging and waste more thoughtfully. We make and finish our Utrecht gifts in our own workshop. That means we can see where material is used, where offcuts arise and where we can work more efficiently.
We do not claim that everything is perfect or fully circular. We do make deliberate choices to reduce waste, produce carefully, maintain good quality control and, where possible, give back to nature.
We work with different materials depending on the product and application. For 3D printing, wood, engraving and personalisation, we consider strength, finish, lifespan and material use.
No single material is the best choice for everything. We therefore choose what is technically and practically most suitable for each product and try to limit unnecessary material loss.
We do not automatically throw leftover material away. We try to reuse what remains wherever possible, for example for moulds, test pieces, engraving tests, settings, prototypes or workshop aids.
That is not possible with every offcut, but anything still usable gets a second purpose before becoming waste.
We pack orders carefully and use recycled or reusable packaging materials where possible. The product must arrive safely and neatly, without using more packaging than necessary.
In our workshop, we use several lasers and 3D printers. During burning, cutting and engraving, we use filtration and extraction to capture as much smoke and released particles as possible.
That matters for the workshop, the surrounding environment and the way we want to produce responsibly.
For every order, we donate €1 to Trees for All. We use materials, energy and resources to make products, and we believe it is important to put something back.
That contribution is not an excuse to produce without limits, but a fixed step alongside more thoughtful material use and reducing waste.
